ONGEA, meaning "Talk", is an edutainment radio drama series that engages adolescent girls and boys in the United Republic of Tanzania with age and sex-appropriate information to access correct information around sexual reproductive health, HIV, violence prevention, nutrition and the importance of education. ONGEA provides insights into the lives of young people aged 15–19 years and their caregivers and tells stories in an educational and entertaining way about their choices, dreams, friendships, challenges and triumphs. In addition to the radio programme, youth listener clubs, in and out of school, are encouraged to discuss the challenges and identify solutions, using a structured facilitation guide. The programme was developed and is being implemented under the guidance of the Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS) and the Zanzibar AIDS Commission (ZAC) with support from UNICEF.
